It's conflicting emotions. First of all, he should be prepared to kill this man, but this is still Ichigo, so that's out. Second of all, he's actually... giddy. Because he just learned that Ichigo is head over heels for him. You know, if this guy isn't lying.
And lord knows that'll be embarrassing tomorrow if he is.
But finally, it comes to the fact that he wants to see what makes Renji so special. And this is where he just blinks at him and sighs.
